Sarah McGahon is a Wicklow based Milliner, with a star studded list of clients behind her.  After years of training,  She has now created her own new business.

Sarah’s studio is located in Bray (in an Old Courthouse built in 1811!)  she designs and creates visually arresting, instantly wearable hats & headpieces. Her hats and headpieces are also stocked in a number of Dublin Boutiques.

Each piece is designed, hand made and stitched, and prices start from Eur125, depending on the piece.

TRAINING

Sarah McGahon, initially trained in millinery in evening classes in the Grafton Academy in Dublin, then persuaded Dublin Milliner Jacinta Fahy to take her on as an Apprentice. After a year with Jacinta, Sarah returned to college and after 4 years gained a degree in Woven Textile Design (B Des) from NCAD in Dublin. Following that Sarah completed a HNC in Millinery in Kensington and Chelsea college in London. During this course her hats were shown in the Department Store, Peter Jones in Sloan Square in London, and some were worn at Ascot.

In Summer 2005, Sarah won an Internship to work with renowned Milliner, Stephen Jones (Covent Garden, London) There she was honoured to work with designers like John Galliano, Basso & Brooke, Erdem, and had celebrity clients like, Dita Von Teese, Kylie Minogue, Mick Jagger.

Film and Theatre Work: Sarah freelances out to Wardrobe and Costume Departments for Film and Theater Work. Past projects include: Historical Millinery for The Tudors, All the Lead Actors for “The Importance of Being Earnest” in The Abbey.
